Kanye West’s VMA Rant

The entire audience at the 2009 Video Music Awards was dumbfounded when Kanye West actually got up on stage and said Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video Award was actually deserved more by Beyonce.
It was a surprising moment for one and all present in the award function at the Radio City Music Hall, when Kanye West went up on the stage while Swift was receiving the award and said, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” West declared during Swift’s speech.
No doubt Taylor Swift’s best moment was ruined. She had received this award for her video of “You Belong With Me”. She was shocked at West’s reaction and so was Beyonce. By the time West finished his rant, that too after the audience asked him to leave the stage, it was time for Swift to finish her speech. She didn’t even get time to reply back to West.
Witnesses of the situation felt bad for Swift. Kristin Cavallari said, “I feel bad for Taylor. I think it was really disrespectful.” Pop sensation Pink, who performed during the function, said, “My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her. Beyonce is a classy lady. I feel for her, too. It’s not her fault at all, and her and Taylor did their thing.”
It was Beyonce who ultimately bagged the most prestigious video of the year award for her “Single Ladies”.
Kanye West made an apology to all in his blog saying, “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HRT FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!”
