LONDON - Kanye West has apologized for jumping onto the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards while Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech.
The Telegraph quoted West as writing on his blog: “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!”
West had stormed onto the stage to protest that Beyonce had been overlooked for the Best Female Video for her “Single Ladies.”
Swift had beaten Beyonce to bag the honour.
West had interrupted her speech and had said: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”
However, West still believes Beyonce deserved the honour.
He writes: “BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! … EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!!” (ANI)
