Ashiesh Roy with co-actors played a prank on Shraman

Hardly three weeks on air and the fun and games seem to have already begun on the sets of Star Plus’s new daily Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum. On April 1, the cast and crew took time off from their shooting to play a Fools’ Day prank on newcomer Shraman Jain. “We were searching for a bakra since morning and suddenly someone suggested Shraman,” chortles Ashiesh Roy. “Shraman had been suffering from a bad back for the past two days and hence allowed to report for work a little late,” informs Piyush Ranade. So when he arrived and put on his make up and costume and sat down to rehearse his scene, cast members Shruti, Ashu and Piyush told him quite seriously that they had heard that Shraman’s being replaced because of coming late for the past two days! At first Shraman thought everyone was just pulling his leg, but when director Sameer Kulkarni and the production controller also joined in the act, Shraman panicked. He shouted and pleaded trying to resolve the matter and was almost on the verge of tears when the entire team burst out laughing and shouting April Fool! “It was a brilliant gag simply because these days nothing is taken more seriously by an actor than the prospect of being replaced from a project. And everyone played their part dead seriously,” says Ashiesh laughing. He added “Of course we pampered Shraman silly for the rest of the day”.  - SAMPURN
