Miss America 2011: A Milestone For Katie Lynn LaRoche

LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- Katie Lynn LaRoche may not have won the Miss America 2011 crown but has surely made a mark at the national event with her immense talent. 23-year-old Katie Lynn LaRoche who was Miss Michigan at the event, made thousands hopeful that she would bag the winning title. However, she made a mark for herself by achieving the Quality of Life Award at the prestigious beauty contest.

The young lady whom many regard as the perfect combination of beauty and brains, chose Miss America 2011 contest as the platform to raise awareness against human trafficking. Debbie Jacobs, a former organizer of the Miss Bay County Pageant, who had organized a party back at Bay City in honor of Katie Lynn LaRoche said that though it was disappointing that the Michigan girl could not reach the finals, she asserted that the young lady had certainly done her state proud by bringing her awareness program to the front-light through the Miss America platform. Katie Lynn LaRoche, a graduate from Michigan State University on Friday earned the appreciation of the jury when she was awarded the Quality of Life Award. The award which gives a scholarship of a $6,000 is bestowed on someone who had proved her dedication in community service.

Katie Lynn LaRoche had successfully proved both her dedication and mission at the Miss America 2011 pageant. This young beauty now intends to pursue a career in International Policy which she believes will open more avenues for her to voice her cause. In spite of failing to make it to the top fifteen, local fans did not stop cheering for Katie Lynn LaRoche, as the girl is already a big name in Bay City for her social commitment and values.
