MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The noted Music maestro of India A R Rahman is celebrating his 45th birthday today and his millions of fans have also expressed their heartfelt wishes for the music composer. The Academy award winning music composer who has composed the music for several successful and critically acclaimed Indian films is looking forward to 2011 to add more feathers to his cap of achievement. His fans are hoping he can repeat the feat of 2009- an academy award and a Golden Globe in the same year. The fact that he has achieved his sophomore nomination for the coveted Golden Globe award has made his fans excited and hopeful. He may also get shortlisted for Oscar.
A R Rahman is the only Indian with a Golden Globe, two Grammys and 2 Oscar awards in his kitty. He became an overnight sensation in international music scene after composing the music for Danny Boyle directed “Slumdog Millionaire”, a critically acclaimed and multiple Academy award winner film. Incidentally, the director has also got the music for his new film ‘127 Hours’ composed by A R Rahman. The film is said to be a front runner for the Oscars and this makes the music maestro chance of a second Oscar win probable.
The year 2010 was mixed for the career for A R Rahman. He worked in a number of films including the Mani Ratnam directed multi lingual ‘Raavan’. The music was appreciated but the film sank at the box office. His CWG anthem was also panned by the fans and critics. However, 2011 can bring some good news for him.
