LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Former child actress Martha Plimpton has had a busy run up to Halloween. The 30 something actress was seen and heard performing ‘God Bless America’ during the 7th inning stretch of game 3 of the World Series last night. The actress and singer was also seen in a guest appearance on the Halloween special episode of ‘Raising Hope’. Playing the role of a grandmother in the hilarious episode, the actress revealed that it was a rather nervous experience for her.
Speaking about her own life in a recent interview, Martha Plimpton revealed that she had a rather strange childhood. Meeting her father for the first time at the age of 4, she said that her mother was a hippie and she had to figure out things mostly on her own. She also said that she related to the role of Virginia in ‘Raising Hope’ as her mother was also young when she was born. Martha Plimpton also said that she was attracted to the character of Virginia because she was not the typical female character who complained but was rather in the same boat as the men in the house.
According to Martha Plimpton, though she was initially nervous at the idea of playing a grandmother, she was quickly assured by creator Greg Garcia saying that it was all a joke. She said that he told him that most of the cast were quite young as well and she herself hit off well with all the cast members. Martha Plimpton became a household name across America after her appearance in ‘Goonies’.
