James MacArthur Dies At 72

TALLAHASSEE (GaeaTimes.com)- Actor James MacArthur, who is best known for starring in the television show “Hawaii Five-O,” has died at the age of 72, a representative of his family has divulged to the media. The celebrated actor is survived by his wife of 25 years Helen Beth Duntz, the couple’s four children as well as seven grandchildren. Information regarding the cause of his death has not been released to the media.
The news of James MacArthur’s demise has been validated by his family in a statement that was released soon after his death. The statement read that the 72-year-old “Hawaii Five-O” star passed away due to natural causes and breathed his last on Thursday in Florida in the presence of his family members. The family statement also makes an appeal to all his fans that in lieu of flowers, charitable contributions be made to the Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, D.C., the Solebury School MOM Fund in New Hope in Pennsylvania, the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu, the Helen Hayes Hospital in Nyack in New York as well as the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church, Palm Desert in California. At the same time, it has also come to light that the memorial service for the deceased actor would be taking place in three different locations which includes Palm Desert in California, Nyack in New York and in Honolulu, Hawaii.
During his illustrious career, James MacArthur won wide accolades for his prolific work on stage, movies as well as on television. Although he was best known for playing the role of second-in-command to the Hawaiian state police squad in “Hawaii Five-O,” he was also known to be associated with a number of successful films.
