LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The reputed men’s magazine GQ’s recently published photos have not only grabbed attention but also it has been slammed by The Parents Television Council as according to them the photos are “hyper-sexualized”. The PTC released a statement yesterday where it has criticized the television makers of “Glee” for the GQ photo-shoots which feature “Glee” actors. Cory Monteith, Lea Michele and Dianna Agron, who play the role of high school students in the musical show “Glee” are seen in skimpy clothes in the GQ photos.
While speaking about the GQ photos of “Glee“, The Parents Television Council stated that the photos are disturbing and the pictures are “sexualizing” actresses who play the role of teen-aged high school characters in the series. Tim Winter, the President of PTC also said that the photos border on “pedophilia” and it shows the unnecessary “sexualization” of young actresses in entertainment. Tim Winter also said that he feels that the creators of “Glee” have showed their intention to direct their show to a different direction and as a result, it is going to be bad for the families.
Fox network has declined to comment anything about the whole controversy of “Glee” GQ photos. However, GQ’s Editor-in-Chief, Jim Nelson told a reputed media source that he would stand by the decision and he will not remove the photographs and interviews. He said that The Parents Television Council should know the division of reality and fantasy. Moreover, he said that these kinds of photo-shoots happen in Hollywood and the models are older enough to take their own decision and do what they want to do in their lives. The media outlets are of the opinion that the “Glee” GQ photo-shoot has disappointed the “Glee” fans as well.
