The Makdee Girl is All Grown Up

September 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): As a child artist Swetha Basu Prasad won a lot of accolades for her performance in movies like Makdee and Iqbal. Swetha is all grown up now and she is all set to make her debut in the Bengali film Industry. First-time director Soumik Chattopadhyay has roped in Swetha for his untitled film. The actress is set to romance the Soham, who recently stunned the audience with his performance in Amanush.
The upcoming flick will be produced under the banner of Shree venkatesh productions. Swetha is a half- Bengali by birth and she has always wanted to do Bengali films. The actress has already left a mark in the telugu film industry with Kotha bengaru lokam, which became one of the biggest grosser of 2008.
Swetha informed us that she will be playing the role of a rich Zamindar’s daughter in her upcoming Bengali film. Director Soumik is making a jump from the small screen to the big screen; he has previously directed mega serials like ‘Durga’ and ‘Behula’. The film maker told us that the movie is a comedy inspired from a Hollywood classic. The director maintains that the movie will not be slapstick comedy and it will also have elements of a thriller in it.
The film will hit the floors by the end of October this year and it will be shot in Hyderabad Bolpur apart from the Calcutta Film studios.
