LOS ANGELES (Gaea Times.com) - The supposed documentary film by Casey Affleck “I’m Still Here” was released on September 17 only to emerge as a mockumentary rather than a documentary film. The film was declared to be a hoax officially by its director. The Joaquin Phoenix hoax as it is being called has not gone down well with critics many of whom had been claiming it to be a hoax from the very start. The film was based on Joaquin Phoenix retiring from his film career to start another one in the rap world. All of it was a hoax. The actor never grew beard and the right conclusion seems to be that he never lost his mind, much to the relief of his fans.

The Joaquin Phoenix hoax was not meant to cheat or trick anyone, claimed the director of the film. The idea of a hoax never entered his mind he said. The film was surrounded by controversies regarding the director being sued by two female crew members who had accused him of making unwelcomed sexual advances and as a result had to leave the project without getting paid. The issue was settled before the film release by a mutual settlement outside the court and one cannot help but wonder if that too was a hoax.

The legendary interview of Joaquin Phoenix on “The Late Show With David Letterman” was also a part and parcel of the Joaquin Hoax. The whole thing was an act though many had seen it to be what it was and had rightly concluded it be a hoax much before the film was released.
