Affleck returns with The Town

September 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): There are very few people in Hollywood who can make a successful transition from a proper Hollywood hero to an award winning director. The only person who has managed to become a famous in both the spheres happens to be Clint Eastwood. Following closely on Clint Eastwood’s heels is actor/director Ben Affleck. Affleck has starred in numerous films, which have turned into box–office money churners but somehow his performances have never been appreciated by the critics.

As a director Affleck has done a movie called ‘Gone Baby Gone’, which became an instant hit with the masses. Now the director is back with his fast paced bank heist movie ‘The Town’. The movie has all the elements of a fast paced thriller and a heavy-hitting working class drama. Affleck has acted in the movie as well, which makes it even more special.

Speaking about Ben Affleck’s performance, his friend Matt Damon compared him to the legendary Clint Eastwood. When informed about his friend’s comments Affleck said that Matt Damon was better than his publicists.

The actor/director said that he hates the fact that reporters tend to be more inquisitive about his personal life than his career. The director is more interested to hear feedbacks from honest, thoughtful and fair people as that will help him perform better in his next project. We are sure Affleck will keep directing great movies in the future too.
