September 10, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The esteemed Toronto International Film Festival has started its 2010 journey yesterday on September 10. This year, no ‘masala’ Bollywood film is going to be screened at the festival. So the Canadian people will surely miss the actresses like Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra, who have been regular to the festival earlier.
Last year, Rani and Priyanka were big hits in TIFF with their films being screened. Cameron Bailey, the co-director of Toronto film festival spoke to the media and expressed his opinion on this. Bailey was quoted saying that he was really delighted to see Rani in the festival last year. He said he has been watching the movies of Rani for many years. Cameron added that he found Rani to be very talented actress, who can do the lightest comedy and the most serious drama with same ease.
When he was reminded about Priyanka, Bailey was quoted saying that she is one of the hottest stars on the planet now and he is a huge fan of her also.
Last year, the Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘What’s Your Rashee’, which starred Priyanka Chopra in 12 avatars, concluded the Toronto International Film Festival.
In fact, last year, Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ had premiered at this event.
