September 9, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Ben Affleck is taking his passion for directing very seriously indeed, the actor / director recently brought his reality-driven heist film to the Venice Film Festival. The movie is named “The Town” and it is set in the backdrop of Boston. As most Affleck fans would know, Boston happens to be Affleck’s hometown and like most of movies this one is also based in the city.

Boston was the setting for Affleck’s Oscar-winning “Good Will Hunting” which he co-wrote and starred in. Affleck also directed another movie called “Gone Baby Gone” which starred him alongside his brother Casey Affleck.

Talking to reporters, Affleck said that he does not want to get pigeonholed as a director who makes all his movies around Boston. The renowned actor/director also confirmed that his deep understanding of the city helped him give a unique style to his new heist movie. In the upcoming flick, the city is not only the backdrop but it also evolves into a character in its own way.

The plot involves a gang of bank robbers from a Boston Neighborhood of Charleston and their latest heist. The area is well known for its unusually high rate of bank robberies that outscores every other city in United States. The movie is very unique in its own way and it will surely hold its own against the plethora of heist movies that was released in 2010.
