Robert Schimmel Passes Away

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The veteran comedian Robert Schimmel, who made the audience laugh with his X-rated and controversial jokes, died on Friday. The stand up comedian was 60 year old. Robert Schimmel passed away at Phoenix Hospital where he was admitted after his car accident.

Robert Schimmel’s death was confirmed his manager, Lee Kernis. The comedian met with an accident back in August 26, 2010 and suffered serious head and internal injuries and his treatment was complicated by his liver disease. His manager said that Robert Schimmel was waiting for a liver transplant at the time of his death. The death of the stand up comedian brought in a wave of sorrow among his friends and family. The 19 year old daughter of Robert Schimmel was driving the car on an Arizona highway when the mishap happened. The media sources reported that Robert Schimmel’s daughter swerved to avoid another vehicle and it caused their car to roll over on to the side of the road.

After treatment Robert Schimmel’s son was in stable condition and his daughter is presently in stable condition. Robert Schimmel made regular appearances in “The Howard Stern Show”. Robert Schimmel’s personal manager Lee Kernis of Brillstein Entertainment said that most of his act came from his life and his life was pretty “tumultuous” and also interesting. Robert Schimmel was previously diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2000. He also wrote a book named “Cancer on $5 a Day (chemo not included): How Humor Got Me through the Toughest Journey of My Life” which is based on his struggle with his disease. Robert Schimmel is survived by 5 children, his father, brother and sister.
