LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Rapper TI and his wife were arrested on yesterday for possession of controlled substances. The police pulled over the car of the rapper after smelling marijuana. They then searched the entire car of the 29 year old rapper and arrested him and his wife while they were driving around Sunset Boulevard. The arrest comes as a surprise to many as it is well known that TI is under probation after his 7 month jail term due to some federal weapons. The bail was set at $10,000 and they were released on the wee hours of the morning the next day.

TI becomes the second celeb to get arrested this week for drug possession. Earlier this week we saw socialite and model Paris Hilton get busted after a motorcycle cop smelled marijuana in her car. Her arrest made headlines all over as the media exposed the rampant use of banned drugs by the celebs. For TI, the recent arrest could be disastrous for his career as he is on the verge of a great comeback after the 7 month jail term. He was recently seen performing live at the BET Awards 2010.

TI and his wife Tameka Cottle have two children together. TI became the center of media attention after he was arrested for violation of the federal law regarding the possession of firearms. His release earlier this year was followed by a performance at the BET Awards, which saw his popularity soar again. His publicist had declined to comment on the recent arrest.
