September 1, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This is your one stop shop for the latest happenings in Tinsel Town. The buzz. The release plans. The launches. The works. Yes, this is serious business and we will bring to you the most reliable information week after week. Have a dekko.
‘Dabangg’ couldn’t have asked for a better release timing. Not just is it seeing a solo release on 10th September, it doesn’t have any competition in the next week too with no film maker daring to arrive on 17th September. Do we see a film that may just challenge the 90 crores netted by ‘Raajneeti’ earlier this year?
Sajid Nadiadwala has surprised the industry by announcing three films in one go. The only independent producer in recent times to do so, he would be making a film each with Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan in the near future.
After featuring in Karan Johar’s last release ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, Sameer Dattani would now be clashing with ‘We Are Family’ with his solo release ‘Mallika’ arriving over the same weekend
‘Kajraare’ is not releasing in near future. There are internal conflicts within the makers due to which as of now the film’s release has been suspended for an indefinite period.
After being on hold for around a year, ‘Do Dooni Chaar’, a film that marks the comeback of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh as a pair and lead protagonists, would now be releasing on 8th October.
Release plans for Ram Gopal Varma and Vivek Oberoi’s ‘Rakta Charitra’ have been finalized. While the first part of this two part film would release on 22nd October, the second would come after a month or two.
