No standoff between Yash and Aditya Chopra: YRF

All is well between father-son duo Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra, unlike rumours.

“This is utter nonsense and unfortunate that anybody should have reported this without any basis or verification and would need to stoop to this for unknown gains,” Rafiq Gangjee, spokesperson of Yash Raj Films (YRF), said in a press statement.

A trade publication had sparked off rumours that there is a rift between them.

Language barrier for ‘Agent Vinod’ crew in Latvia

The crew of Saif Ali Khan’s forthcoming production “Agent Vinod” had a tough time shooting in Latvia, thanks to the language barrier.

“It was very difficult to understand their language since not many Latvians speak English. But we had a great team of locals who helped us communicate,” said director Sriram Raghavan.

The team is back in Mumbai after a gruelling, two-month-long schedule in Latvia.

The language problem notwithstanding, Raghavan says it was worth the experience.

“The landscape in Latvia is exceptionally breathtaking. We shot in many different locations across the different cities. We got access to some heritage structures, like old ruins, churches and museums,” he added.

The film also features Saif and his real-life girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

Makarand Deshpande to do cameo on TV

Veteran theatre and Bollywood actor-director Makarand Deshpande will now be seen on the small screen. He has been roped in to promote Zee TV’s upcoming show “Bhagowali- Baantein Apni Taqdeer”.

“Being selected for the role of a sutradhar (presenter) to introduce the concept of ‘Bhagowali’ is a compliment,” Deshpande said in a press statement.

He will introduce the audience to the world of Runjhun, the lead protagonist of the show.

“The role of a sutradhar is usually offered to men with powerful voices and a strong personality. The premise of ‘Bhagowali’ sounds simple yet compelling and narrating it was quite interesting,” added the actor, who was seen in films like “Swades” and “Makdee”.

The show is expected to go on air at the end of the month.
