MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- ‘Antardwand‘ is a film that has some of the well known and lesser known actors but it manages to strike a chord with the viewers and the director does well with the sensitive theme of groom kidnapping in rural Bihar. In the interiors of the state where law is reduced to a farce and lawlessness has become the habit kidnapping of marriageable guys remains a reality even these days. However, the film deals with more issues at core. Sushil Rajpal’s debut film packs in a punch with its storyline and commendable performance by the actors.

Actor Raj Singh Choudhary who got oodles of critical acclaim for his performance in ‘Gulaal’, returns to the silver screen with this film and plays the protagonist with perfection. His life goes topsy turvy when he is kidnapped close to the home of his parents. The film has been shot and edited as a thriller and right from the kidnap of protagonist Raghuveer to his escape the pace of the film remains fast. However, the director of the film ‘Antardwand‘ has taken care to portray the mental turmoil of the characters. Newcomer Swati Sen plays her part well as the demure and humiliated bride.

Rather than depending on the dialogues and body languages of the actors the director relies on depicting the prevalent social malpractice and deep rooted superstitions. As far as the performances are concerned both Vinay Pathak and Akhilendra Mishra stand out among the cast. The supporting cast also deliver commendable performance. The film ‘Antardwand‘ is a hard hitting one which makes one realize that we need to evolve more to claim ourselves as superior and intelligent creatures.
