Harold Dow’s Cause Of Death Revealed

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The Emmy Award-winning CBS News Correspondent Harold Dow breathed his last on Saturday morning, August 21, 2010. The veteran journalist’s death brought in a wave of sorrow for his family and colleagues. The family did not reveal the investigative reporter’s cause of death immediately, however, later they released a statement where they maintained that the “48 Hours” correspondent lost his battle against asthma and passed away at the age of 62.
Harold Dow cause of death was revealed by a family spokesman in a statement that read that at the time of Harold Dow’s death he was suffering from adult “onset” asthma. The veteran journalist is survived by his wife Kathy and three children. The family spokesman said that on Monday, August 16, 2010 Harold Dow checked himself into the Valley Hospital emergency room in Ridgewood, New Jersey for severe asthmatic syndrome and breathed his last Saturday morning. Harold Dow’s career with CBS includes working for CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and CBS News Sunday Morning. The investigative reporter won five Emmy Awards for his contribution in the field of news including the coverage of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, and of American troops’ movement into Bosnia in 1996.
The Hackensack Police Department also agrees with the cause of death given by Harold Dow’s family. The police reports that an inhaler was found on the floor of Harold Dow’s vehicle which led them to believe that Harold Dow “succumbed” to an asthma attack while he was behind the wheel. Susan Zirinsky, executive producer of “48 Hours Mystery” expressed condolences by saying that Harold Dow’s humanity was felt by everyone he encountered and even in his toughest interviews Harold Dow defined the “greatness” of his work. Susan Zirinsky said that Harold Dow was the most “selfless” man she had known in her life.
