Harold Dow Dies

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The veteran CBS Correspondent, Harold Dow died unexpectedly yesterday morning leaving his friends and family mourning. CBS network spokeswoman Louise Bashi confirmed the news to the media. However, the cause of his death is not yet known.
Harold Dow is survived by his wife and three children. Louise Bashi released a statement yesterday on behalf of CBS where she maintained that Harold Dow died suddenly “Saturday morning” in New Jersey. The sudden death of the journalist has brought in a wave of sorrow and grief among his friends and colleagues. Susan Zirinsky, executive producer of “48 Hours Mystery” expressed his condolence saying that it was Harold Dow’s humanity which was felt by everyone he encountered like in his toughest interviews also the late journalist defined the “greatness” of his work. The executive producer was all in praises for the late investigative reporter of CBS news and he added that Harold Dow was the most selfless man he has ever come across.
Harold Dow’s career with CBS includes working for CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and CBS News Sunday Morning. The veteran journalist won five Emmy Awards for his contribution in the field of news including the coverage of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, and of American troops’ movement into Bosnia in 1996. He was best known for his work on “48 Hours”, to which he contributed since the program’s launch in January 1988. Harold Dow covered major news stories such as the kidnapping of Patricia Hearst, the O.J. Simpson trial. He was the first news anchor to interview O.J. Simpson after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Harold Dow was 62 year old when he breathed his last.
