PARIS - Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has donated 100,000 dollars to the United Nations towards aid for Pakistan flood victims.
Jolie, who is currently on a promotional tour of Europe for her spy thriller ‘Salt’, donated the pledged donation during an event here.
Confirming the 34-year old actress’ donation, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, a UNHCR official said Jolie has donated the sum to help Pakistan, which is finding it tough to cope with the deluge due to the slow international response to the catastrophe.
The Oscar-winning actress had earlier vowed to help Pakistan flood victims.
“I’m doing what I can. I’m talking to Ambassador Richard Holbrook, the UN and people on the ground about how we can spend our money,” she told reporters earlier in London during a promotional event.
Jolie, who attended the premiere of Salt with Brad Pitt, added: “It’s unravelling every minute, it seems to be getting worse so we’re trying to keep track of it.” (ANI)
