Was Dr. Laura forced to Quit ?

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Dr. Laura Schlessinger is on her way to put an end to her 30-year old radio show. The reasons though are not as clear. She, on the other hand mentioned doing so because she is keen on getting back her “First Amendment rights“. Can it be that her decision is an indirect consequence of what happened in her show ?

Dr. Laura was charged against racial issues previously. She used the N-word repeatedly while conversating with one of her callers. She later apologized for her actions.

She was too disturbed by what actually happened. In an interview she said that she got into an in-depth discussion with her caller, who was African American by origin. She was upset with her American husband’s behavior and wanted Laura to advice her.

Dr. Schlessinger spoke her heart out only to find she had used the N-word quite a few times. A week after the mishap, Laura told Larry King that she will quit the radio show. In the famed celebrity talk show Larry King Live the doctor said that she wanted her freedom of speech back. She told Larry,

“My contract is up for my radio show at the end of the year and I’ve made the decision not to do radio anymore.”

She did not mention any names. All Laura spoke about was that lately she was feeling that she had been bounded and hence its just that she wants to break free.

Inside every one of us there is a speaker, and it is our right to hold on to our views. It seems the doctor is right.
