The unconventional story of “Melissa & Joey” is written and created by David Kendell and Bob Young.

Joey Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart are paired second time for ABC Family sitcom after their ABC Family film “My Fake Fiance”. Melissa Joan Hart plays the role of Melissa “Mel” Burke, a local politician who hails from a political family. Mel is a typical urban woman who loves to live a fashionable life amidst luxuries. The story takes its turn when she takes custody of her brother’s kids after he and his wife are caught up in financial trouble. However, she finds it difficult to control her niece, Lennox and nephew, Ryder, the adolescent kids who are certainly wise beyond their young age when it comes to their mischievous escapades.

Joey Lawrence plays the role of Joseph “Joe” Lando who suddenly appears in her home after losing his job, his wife and home owing to Mel’s brother’s thefts. When Mel finds it hard to handle the kids and her career she hires Joe to become the family’s new nanny. The show gave the audience a hearty laugh and the audience liked Joey Lawrence And Melissa Joan Hart’s performance.
