Dr. Laura Schlessinger Apologizes

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Talk radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger has issued an apology for using the N-word a number of times during her radio show earlier this week. The 63-year-old well-known radio show presenter made the objectionable remark many a times when she was talking to a caller on her show last Tuesday. The caller, an African-American woman who called herself Jade, told Dr. Laura Schlessinger that she was married to a white man and had to face racist comments from her husband’s friends and family. After the black caller gave examples of the kind of remarks that she had to encounter, the talk show host reached the conclusion that the comments could not be described as racist.

Although till now, Dr. Laura Schlessinger had refrained from saying anything that might be considered to be objectionable, she went on to utter the N-word multiple times when the caller asked her if the usage of it is indeed offensive. However, the talk radio host’s explanation failed to make the woman feel any better, rather she became upset by the end of the show owing to the usage of the N-word by the presenter. However, Dr. Laura Schlessinger did not pay much heed to the caller’s displeasure and went on to say that she should not have married out of her race if she was so hypersensitive about color.

It hardly comes as a surprise that Dr. Laura Schlessinger N-word rant had not only upset the particular caller but also many of her regular listeners. However, during Wednesday’s show, the talk radio presenter apologized for using the N-word and also acknowledged that what she had done was wrong.
