Reese Witherspoon To Play Late Jazz Singer Peggy Lee

August 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood actress and producer Reese Witherspoon will be seen playing the American jazz and popular music singer, Peggy Lee in her new movie based on the singer’s life.
The Oscar winning actress has obtained the rights to make a film from the estate of Peggy. Witherspoon met with Peggy’s granddaughter Holly Foster-Wells. Reese has teamed up with director Nora Ephron of Julie and Julia fame to write as well as direct the movie.
The movie will portray the ups and downs in the nearly seven-decade-long incredible career of Peggy. The film will be co-produced by Witherspoon.
The Grammy Award winner Peggy got married four times and died in 2002 at the age of 81.
She penned music for movies, acted as well as created conceptual record albums, which included jazz, art songs, poetry, chamber pot and other genres.
