Grace Moore’s Biography ‘So this is Love’ to air on TCM

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — Watch the mesmerizing and tuneful biography of the soprano cum actress Grace Moore today. ‘So this is Love’, the biography of the famed actress will be aired tonight at 10 on TCM.
Grace Moore was born on December 5, 1898 and passed away on January 26, 1947. She was an American operatic soprano and actress in musical theaters and films. She was also known by the name “Tennessee Nightingale.” Her films contributed in the popularization of opera by spreading it among a larger audience.
The movie begins with Grace, preparing herself to perform on the opening night. While awaiting her entrance, she ruminates her life and the sequence of events that led her from a humble childhood in Tennessee to the world of opera. The popular songs belonging to the showbiz drama include “The Kiss Waltz,” “Remember,” “I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate” and “La Boheme.”

So, this is more about Love and less about Grace. The story may have followed the life of Grace Moore but definitely is less interesting than the diva’s actual life. Kathryn Grayson, who portrayed Grace Moore in the flick added flavor to the character in her own unique way that distinguishes between real and reel Grace. Well, its a movie after all. No big deal.
