Actress/singer Grayson Dies

Actress/singer KATHRYN GRAYSON has died, aged 88.

Grayson, who starred in popular musicals including Show Boat and Kiss Me Kate, passed away in her sleep at her Los Angeles home on Wednesday (17Feb10).

She also played Gene Kelly’s girlfriend in 1943 film Thousands Cheer, and co-starred with Kelly and Frank Sinatra in Anchors Aweigh in 1945.

Grayson’s other musicals included Two Sisters from Boston, Ziegfeld Follies, The Toast of New Orleans and Lovely to Look At.

She later starred in stage productions including The Merry Widow, Camelot and Man of La Mancha.

She is survived by a daughter and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
