By ANIFriday, July 9, 2010
ISLAMABAD - Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has said he would challenge the results of the recent by-polls in Punjab, as he has solid proof regarding the provincial government’s involvement in rigging.
Talking to media persons during a press conference here, Imran, who heads the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party, said the Punjab government had published fake ballot papers which were stamped by the police.
He alleged that there are 1.5 billion fake votes in the country.
“In case of inaction by the Election Commission in this regard, PTI will go to courts,” The News quoted Imran, as saying.
He also accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif of accumulating huge property in foreign countries.
“He (Nawaz) has no interest in public issues,” Imran said. (ANI)
