June 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): English filmmaker Guy Ritchie is planning to make his next Sherlock Holmes movie in 3D. The director has even started work on the script and wants to appoint some of the crew members of James Cameron’s Avatar to create the 3D effects.

The director, who debuted with the 20 minute short film The Hard Case, had talked about this 3D effect dream earlier too.

Ritchie had said, “Despite my love for 3D, I am not sure whether a movie would work on 3D or not. Usually, the films which are turned 3-D did not appear good always. However, I am a geek as far as technological innovation is concerned. I had been to a 3-D event in Los Angeles, three or four years back.”

He added, “An explosion was seen, which looked so real on screen, it’s like all hell breaking loose. It looked incredible as well as terrifying at the same time. The intense influence of 3D effects on the perception of a scene was clearly visible. It will have positive effect on the film. I will definitely work with 3D in my films in future.”

Well, it would be a real treat for the viewers of Sherlock Holmes to watch it in 3D.
