Eddie Redmayne Wins Maiden Tony

Eddie Redmayne debuted in 2002 at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in the comedy ‘Twelfth Night’. He has received the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the 50th Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2004 and the award for Best Newcomer at the Critics’ Circle Theater Awards in 2005. Eddie Redmayne has also been seen on the big screen in the BBC miniseries Tess Of The D’Urbervilles. His movie credits include The Good Shepherd, Powder Blue Savage Grace, The Other Boleyn Girl and Glorious 39. He is presently attached to the upcoming film adaptation of ‘White Male Heart’ by Ruardidh Nicoll. He became a model for Burberry in 2008. The actor who has been a part of three Tudor era films so far has shown an inclination towards classical story telling and characters. His latest project ‘Red’ has had a successful 15-week run in Broadway. It started on March 11 and is ending on June 27.
Apart from Eddie Redmayne and Scarlett Johanson, Levi Kreis and Katie Finneran won the honors on the June 13 awards ceremony. Levi Kreis received the Award for her performance in ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ and Katie Finneran for ‘Promises, Promises’.
