LONDON - Australian Premier Kevin Rudd lashed out at Robin Williams after the funnyman took a dig at Aussies, calling them “English rednecks”.

During a recent appearance on the American programme Late Show with David Letterman, Williams, 58, had joked: “The Australians are basically English rednecks. ‘You down there, how are ya? Good to see you. Hello!’”

However Rudd took offence to the derogatory term, and hit back at the Mrs. Doubtfire star.

“First of all, I think Robin Williams should go and spend a bit of time in Alabama before he frames comments about anyone being particularly redneck. That’s my first response,” the Daily Express quoted Rudd, as saying on Triple M radio in Melbourne. (ANI)
