Indian Ocean to feature in Indias First Music Film

March 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Come April 2nd, 2010 and Big Cinemas will release ‘Leaving Home: The Life and Music of Indian Ocean’. Indian Ocean is a 19 year old band which has enjoyed worldwide success and has garnered truck loads of fans. The film will be released across 6 cities in the first phase.

The film will cover the stories of four men who came together to make soul-stirring music as Indian Ocean. The film will run 115 minutes and promises to be entertaining throughout. Recently, international band Iron Maiden launched ‘Flight 666’, which accounted one particular tour.

Indian Ocean uses an engaging mix of instruments like acoustic guitars, bass guitars and tabla. They usually mix soothing classical Indian music and cathartic power of rock. The movie showcases their journey on three various platforms, from the lively atmosphere of the stage shows, to the casual performances and the fury unleashed in the rehearsal room.

The band over the past 19 years has only launched 30 songs, all of them striking the right chord.

The documentary is directed by Jaideep Varma under his banner Cartwheel Features. This is his first non-fiction film. The movie will only be released in digital cinemas with 5.1 surround sound and has been completely shot in HDV.
