Pattinson to be next Spider-Man?

LONDON - “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson is rumoured to be next Spider-Man in the fourth installment of the web-slinging superhero franchise.

The speculation started after actor Tobey Maguire, who played the action hero and his alter-ego Peter Parker in the first three installment of the “Spider-Man” franchise, announced his departure earlier this week over reported script issues. Now Pattison is being tipped to paly the teenaged avatar of Parker as per the new script by American screenwriter James Vanderbilt, reports celebrifi.com.

Pattinson, who presently has two movies “Bel Ami” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” in hand, is not the only potential candidate for the lead role in “Spider-Man 4″. Actors Chace Crawford and Michael Cera are also in the competition for the role.
