Miss Argentina dies after cosmetic surgery

BUENOS AIRES - Former Miss Argentina of 1994, Solange Guadalupe Magnano, died from complications after cosmetic surgery to lift her buttocks, national media reported.
The 37-year-old mother of two, who has worked as a model in Europe, received an injection in her buttocks intended to restore their youthful form, the report said Wednesday.
But after the treatment in a beauty clinic, she had to be rushed to hospital, where she died Sunday from lung embolism and heart problems.
Magnano’s family said her death was a “horrific accident”. The Argentine beauty ran a modelling agency in Argentina.
Cosmetic surgery for women, and increasingly for men, is quite common in Argentina.
A CNN medical expert said that such injections can have the side effect of sending a blood clot through the body and into the pulmonary system.

It really is a tragedy that such a thing has happened but statistically the death rate of medical complications is why down. I am just really confused on how a butt injection can cause such a dramatic result? I wonder if their hospital was safe? |
