American Music Awards 2009 Winners Declared On Sunday

Los Angeles- The musical artists whose work was most appreciated by music lovers across the nation were recognized at the American Music Awards 2009 which was held on Sunday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The American Music Awards 2009 Winners were selected by online voting with nominations being decided on the basis of retail sale and radio ratings.

This year’s award ceremony was essentially dominated by the 19 year old Taylor Swift and the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Swift won awards in five categories after being nominated in five categories. Jackson registered four awards in total and in the process made history by winning the highest number of awards by a single artist in AMA history. Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson received the awards on his brother’s behalf and in his acceptance speech added that the musical icon would live forever.

Apart from them, the other American Music Awards 2009 Winners included singer Jay-Z, who won in the award of favorite male artist and favorite album in the rap/ hip-hop categories. Moreover, the popular The Black Eyed Peas grabbed multiple award as the favorite group in the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. At the same time, the band also kept the audiences highly entertained as they performed the popular hits “I Got A Feeling” and “Boom Boom Pow.” Meanwhile, the Favorite Female Artist of the year award went to pop icon Beyonce Knowles.

Apart from them, many other musical artists were declared as the winners in American Music Awards 2009 in various other categories. However, the entire award ceremony turned out to be a huge success, with the series of stunning performances by a number of artists that kept music lovers across the nation asking for more.
