Patrick Swayze: Remembering The Star Of “Dirty Dancing” And “Ghost”

Patrick Swayze, the star of famous Hollywood movies like “Ghost” and “Dirty Dancing” died at the age of 57 on September 14. Though this news was not entirely unexpected as the actor reportedly was suffering from pancreatic cancer since January last year, yet it has shocked his fans and colleagues quite a bit.
This multifaceted performer who could dance, act and even sing had made indelible impression in the minds of millions across the globe through his seamless portrayal of the character of Johnny Castle in the movie “Dirty Dancing” which released in the year 1987. His smooth acting and even smoother dancing skills made him an overnight success and ensured that he could create quite a flutter in the hearts of pretty young girls. This low budget movie had enormous contributions in his career and even now people promptly associate Swayze’s name with this cult hit. Another movie for which Swayze would always be remembered is “Ghost”, which released in the year 1990; in it he starred opposite Hollywood diva Demi Moore. This went onto become the biggest grosser as far Swayze’s movie career is concerned and is a must watch even today.
Swayze, famous for his seamless dance moves and unpretentious easy cowboy charm was also voted as one of the “Sexiest Man Alive” by the People magazine for the year 1991.
This Texas man, explored various fields such as sports, athletics, gymnastics dancing and ballet since a very young age and excelled in most of them. All these skills surely did come in handy in his long career as a Hollywood actor.
Now that he is gone, this “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost” star is surely going to be missed by millions of fans worldwide.
