WASHINGTON - American singer Beyonce Knowles has been nominated for three MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards.

Beyonce, 27, is up for Best Video for ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’, and Best International Act and Best Album for ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’, at the annual British awards ceremony, which recognises music of black origin.

She will compete against Akon, Ciara, Drake, Eminem, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Keri Hilson, and her hubby Jay-Z for the Best International Act prize.

The 14th annual MOBO Awards will take place at the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) Arena in Glasgow on September 30, and it will be the first time the ceremony has been held outside of London.

“The fact that we are holding the awards in Glasgow this year is testament to the fact that MOBO music is the sound of Britain as a whole,” Contactmusic quoted Kanya King, CEO and Founder of the MOBOs, as saying.

“The reception from Scotland has been great and we cannot wait to put on our show up there,” King added. (ANI)
