1923 - Nandamuri Tarak Ramarao, film star, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and founder of Telgu Desam Party, was born. He has acted in many films including ‘Patal Bhairavi’.
1970 - Champak Jain (born May 28) is a Bollywood producer of films like De Dana Dan (2009) Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam (2008) Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994) etc.
1978 - The kiss comes to the Hindi screen in ‘Love Sublime,’ and is seen as a sign of what the govt. calls greater ‘creative freedom,’ after Indira Gandhi’s authoritarian rule at Bombay.
1982 - Kanchi Kaul was born on May 28, 1982 and is best known for her roles in Indian Television including the role of Ananya Sachdev-Samarth in the show Ek Ladki Anjani Si and the role of Suhana (after Rucha Gujrathi) in the show Bhabhi on Star Plus. In addition to Indian Television Kanchi was in one Hindi movie, Woh Tera Naam Tha and about half a dozen Telegu films.
