Ernest Borgnine Wins SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Veteran actor Ernest Borgnine who is known to have ruled the world of both television and movies for the past 17 years, added a new feather to his cap on Sunday night when he was recognized with the much-coveted Lifetime Achievement honor at the 17th Screen Actors Guild Awards. The noted actor was visibly overwhelmed when he walked up to the podium to accept the award which was presented to him by none other than Morgan Freeman, who shared screen space with the veteran actor in the flick ‘Red.’
During his acceptance speech at the 17th Screen Actors Guild Awards that was held with much elan at the Los Angeles based Shrine Exposition Center last night, Ernest Borgnine noted that there are millions of people over the world who would just ‘love to be into our shoes’ while adding that only a privileged few get the chance of working in the world of entertainment. “I hope we will never let our dedication to our craft fail,” the Oscar-winning actor went on to add. After the brief introduction given by Morgan Freeman, Ernest Borgnine thanked his wife as well as the crowd for the ‘great honor.’
While talking to reporters backstage, the renowned actor was equally excited and added, “To receive something like this is beyond comprehension” and said that the honor just makes you ask whether you are actually worthy of it before noting that he had thoroughly enjoyed his work as an actor. Over the years, Ernest Borgnine has been bestowed with a number of awards for his illustrious work on television as well as films.
