LONDON - British girls would rather swap lives with Prince William’s fiancee Kate Middleton than footballers’ wives Victoria Beckham or Coleen Rooney, according to a new survey.

However, before last month’s royal engagement, another poll showed more than half of 13 to 19-year-old girls would like to be a footballer’s wife.

The exclusive survey, conducted by Dubit Limited for The Sun, showed nearly two-thirds girls wanted to be famous.

Middleton also ranked highly in the style stakes with girls aged seven to 17 in the poll. She came second only to X Factor beauty Cheryl Cole, again beating Victoria and Coleen.

And although David Beckham still scores top marks when it comes to who girls find the most attractive, Princes William and Harry were second and third.

Half of the schoolgirls think Kate and Wills’ relationship is the most admirable.

The girls thought a doctor would make the best husband, followed by pop star, actor, prince and footballer.

The poll showed that there was a disadvantage to being Middleton - her lack of freedom. More than half said it would be the biggest downside of being a royal. (ANI)
