Marylin Monroe-JFK picture to go under the hammer

MELBOURNE - The only picture that shows Hollywood’s glamour girl Marilyn Monroe with former US President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert will be auctioned in the US next month.
The photograph, kept in an envelope tagged ‘Sensitive material’, will be sold as part of the 12,000-image archive of White House photographer Cecil Stoughton, reports the Age.
The black and white photograph, clicked on May 19, 1962 soon after the actress sang the famous ‘Happy Birthday, Mr President’ to John at Madison Square Garden stadium in New York, shows her in a revealing, pearl-encrusted dress.
Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s election, the sale at Bonhams in New York is expected to fetch as much as 250,000 dollars.
“She is wearing an outrageous dress. We believe it’s the only picture where the three of them appear together,” said Matthew Haley, historical photograph specialist at Bonhams.
The actress, who died less than three months after the picture was taken, was romantically linked to both the Kennedy brothers. (ANI)
