MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bollywood siren Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya will be choosing the girls who will appear in the Kingfisher Calendar of 2011. Though some fans might be disappointed that the ‘Om Shanti Om’ star will not be seen posing in the two-piece herself, she will be seen on the show as the judge alongside her boyfriend and ace photographer Atul Kasbekar. Atul Kasbekar, who shot all the previous versions of the calendar, was also among the first photographers who spotted the potential of Deepika Padukone as a model.

The Kingfisher Calendar provides a great platform for aspiring models to get highlighted in the industry. With the show that precedes the making of the calendar, the audience gets an insight into the hard but glamorous world of modeling. Hundreds of models appeared for the auditions of the show that will show the making of the Kingfisher Calender 2010. The daughter of India’s badminton ace, Prakash Padukone, said that one of the criteria for the girls is that they should be intelligent apart from beautiful.

Deepika Padukone also said in an interview that being a part of the Kingfisher Calender earlier in her career, she can relate to the girls who are participating on the show. She also said that being a successful model requires one to have the perfect package of beauty, smartness and brains. She also revealed that she feels lucky to not be a part of a model hunt during her time and being directly approached by the artists. Siddharth Mallya said that all the contestants were good looking and the competition for the coveted 12 will a tough one.
