LOS ANGELES (Gaea Times.com) As a frantic search is on for all kinds of information related to Halloween, pumpkin seeds recipes could not have been left behind for long. The web is being suddenly flooded with recipes for cooking or roasting of pumpkin seeds. As many have become busy in their preparations for Halloween, they are wondering if pumpkins seeds are of any good. The answer is a straight “yes” as pumpkin seeds make for some crunchy mouth watering snacks. One could use an oven or simply use a pan depending on one’s preference. Here are two recipes, one requires an oven while the second recipe only needs a pan.

Clean the pumpkin seeds in water to get rid of the pulp and the pumpkin flesh stuck to the seeds. Allow the pumpkin seeds to dry or use paper towels for the purpose. Toss the seeds in a bowl with butter and half a tablespoon of salt. Heart the oven to a temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit and spread the mixture on a cookie sheet. Let it bake for 25 minutes and stir it every ten minutes or so. Doing little experiments with the recipe won’t be bad either. Use garlic salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili powder and cumin in different proportions to create your own flavored pumpkin seeds.

The second recipe as promised uses a pan in place of an oven. Simply take the washed and dried pumpkin seeds in a proportion of two cups of water for every half cup of pumpkin seeds and boil them for ten minutes. Let the water drain and allow the seeds to dry. Heat a dollop of butter in a pan and add the seeds to it. When the seeds turn to a slightly brownish color add garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Heat it until golden brown and then serve it cool with garlic paste.
