LONDON - Singer Hilary Duff’s husband, ice hockey player Mike Comrie, has been slapped with a lawsuit for not making payment on a $165,000 Mercedes-Benz he purchased in 2008.
Legal documents filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by gossip website TMZ.com said the finance company tried to repossess the car, but the 30-year-old sportsman has “refused to allow plaintiff possession”.
The finance company is now asking Mike to pay the $104,000 owed on the contract as well as extra costs incurred, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Meanwhile, Duff is selling her Beverly Hills mansion for double the price she paid for it. The 22-year-old star’s six-bedroom property on Toluca Lake is on the market for $7 million.
The secure property - which cost her $3.5 million in March 2004 - covers 9,800 feet and features a bar, a cognac room, a wine cellar, a gym and a gift-wrapping room.
