CINCINNATI (GaeaTimes.com)- On Sunday night once again millions of people at the Riverfest gathered at the Ohio River at Newport, Cincinnati to become a part of the annual WEBN firework 2010. The firework display, that in the period of the last 34 years has become one of the most spectacular firework events in United States, attracted once again a huge crowd that turned up early to enjoy the last day of the Labor Day weekend. The WEBN fireworks event marks the end of Labor Day Weekend and also the unofficial finish to summer.
Being organized annually since 1977, WEBN Fireworks has grown through years and now with the addition of co-sponsor like Cincinnati Bells, it has turned into a magnanimous event. The event is covered by many local and national television Networks and media sources. As per reports, while last year around 400,000 people turned up in person at the WEBN Fireworks venue to become a part of it, this year the organizers estimated a footfall of around half million people.
Since the entry to the venue is free, like every year, this year as well thousands of people turned up early on the day to secure the best place near the river to view the night spectacle of WEBN Fireworks. The event started at around 9:05 p.m. with the synchronized soundtrack and fireworks. Joel Moss, WEBN’s creative services director said to media sources on Sunday that at present the firework designers have the ability to break the “show down and synchronize it to music to the tenth of a second. We have pinpoint cues”.
