August 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Renowned pop star George Michael pleaded guilty to drug offenses on Tuesday, which lead to a suspended driving license. The Judge presiding over the case warned Michael that he might face serious jail time. The incident involved George Michael veering off the road and hitting a photo shop, while he was under the influence of drugs.
George Michael made a 15-minute appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, where he plead guilty to the charges issued against him. . At the time of the incident, George Michael was found under the influence of alcohol and in possession of Cannabis. The singer was found “spaced out” and with dilated pupils during the July 4 crash.
Judge Robin McPhee suspended Michael’s driving license for the next six months and warned him that he could face a prison sentence due to his irresponsible actions. The singer was swamped with photographers and journalists trying to get a comment from him, the police helped him through the crowd. According to the police, George Michael crashed into a photo-shop close to his home in North London on July 4. The police arrived after the crash to find the car’s engine still running and the singer sitting behind the steering wheel in trance like state.
