LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (GaeaTimes.com)- British singer George Michael has admitted that he was driving under the influence of drugs as well as possessing cannabis during the car accident last month in which he had crashed his Range Rover into a shop in north London. The “Careless Whisper” singer pleaded guilty at the Highbury Corner Magistrates Court to two drug offenses with regard to the case. Following the accident that took place on July 4 in Hampstead, London, George Michael was taken into custody by the authorities but was later released on bail.
The Metropolitan Police Service of London divulged that the 47-year-old musical artist was charged with possession of cannabis and driving while unfit due to drugs or alcohol earlier this month. During the accident on July 4, the singer was arrested after he was found laying over the wheel of his car and as he seemed to be ’spaced out’ while sweating profusely, the cops had suspected that he was high on drugs. Later George Michael was found to have cannabis cigarettes in his possession while blood tests revealed traces of the drugs in his system.
However, this is not the only time when George Michael has accepted to be behind the wheels of his vehicle while he was under the influence of drugs as in May, 2007, the ‘Fastlove” singer had admitted at London’s Brent Magistrates Court of driving despite taking drugs. With respect to the case, the singer was received a two-year ban from driving but it seems that the “Somebody to Love” singer didn’t learn much from the earlier incident.
