‘Never Let Me Go’ to open 2010 London Film Fest
LONDON — London Film Festival organizers said Friday that this year’s event will open with the European premiere of “Never Let Me Go.”
The Mark Romanek-directed film will open the 10-day festival on Oct. 13.
Adapted from Kazuo Ishiguro’s dystopian coming-of-age novel, “Never Let Me Go” stars Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan of “An Education” and Andrew Garfield, who was recently announced as star of the next “Spider-Man” movie.
Adapted by “The Beach” writer Alex Garland, it is a drama about boarding school friends coming to grips with their sheltered past as adults in the real world.
The 54th London Film Festival runs Oct. 13-28.
