LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — Walking Tall was aired last night at 8 p.m. on TNT. The Rock fights a war against vice and corruption in this slick remake of the 1973 Blockbuster. It took many elements of Pusser’s life and the original Walking Tall. Many things were changed, such as Johnson’s character’s name (Chris Vaughn). The setting the film was moved to the semi-rural Kitsap County, Washington, although it was filmed in Squamish, B.C., Canada. All in all it’s a nice movie to watch once in a while. Now that TNT has aired the remake, next running in are the two back to back sequels of the film.
Walking Tall: The Payback
This one is a action-thriller film directed by Tripp Reed and stars Kevin Sorbo and Haley Ramm. It was released Direct to Video in 2007. Nick returns to his hometown after his fathers accidental death only to find that the place is no longer the same. The town now plays host to notorious goons and their criminal activities. Finally Nick becomes a sheriff himself and with the help of friends does everything in power to win back the city.
