Katrina Kaif Prays For ‘Rajneeti’

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Katrina Kaif who is waiting for the release of her upcoming film ‘Rajneeti’ recently prayed for its success at Ajmer Dargah and she wore a traditional salwar-Kameez. The sultry actress who is known as one of the glamorous actresses of Bollywood has opted for an image makeover in this film directed by ace director Prakash Jha. For the first time she will be seen on the silver screen in an author backed and serious role. This will be acid test for her as she will get the chance to stop her critics who accuse her of relying on her glamour rather than acting skills. Her on-screen chemistry with hunky actor Ranbir Kapoor has been proved and they come together on screen in this film too but in a different backdrop.

It is quite well known that ‘Ranjeeti’ is a film based on political backdrop and Katrina Kaif essays the role of a female politician on it. A rumor was spread earlier that her on screen character was based on that of Sonia Gandhi, the widow of former PM of India, Rajiv Gandhi and Congress President. However, the actress and the film’s director both have rubbished this theory.

‘Rajneeti’ has been shot mainly in Bhopal and it is likely to do well at the box office. In this film Katrina Kaif has delivered long speeches in Hindi, a career first for her. It is quite natural that the actress is counting heavily on its success and that is why she went to pray for it. It is releasing on June 4.
